CROFT GENERATION: 10th Anniversary

Croft Generation has turned 10 years old on December 9th, 2011. I began this project back in 2001, but i dont want to bore you with the website story. If you want to know more about this, then click on 'About Us' section in the following link below:

In the next 10 days we will be giving a Tribute and reviews about the Tomb Raider franchise that includes special updates from each game, movies etc. I will try to give interesting material as much as possible (completing full sections). You will find videos, pictures, information, documentaries and much more. A great tribute to Tomb Raider and Croft Generation.

Within the 10 days, I will be giving clues for you to follow, testing to see if you are a real Tomb Raider and discover the secrets that Lara will have to search. Find out each key to discover the secrets before the December 18th. On that date will approach the final clue to accomplish the final artefact. More details soon. Be sure to keep the secrets that you found along the way in case someone else beat you too it.

Historia Tomb Raider para el 10 Aniversario de Croft Generation

Lara Croft is in her Mansion Library, in search for some information to help her find an antique relic hidden for centuries. One book catches her attention. She opens it and starts scanning through the pages until suddenly she realizes that one of the pages was thicker than the others.

She takes out her dagga and carefully cuts the page surface. It seems something is hidden within the page. It's an metal inscription that says:

1: If the place you want to find, to Titu Cusi Yupanqui you will must to find.

What does this mean? Lara smiled. It seems all of her knowledge in History are worth while; so she departures to a new adventure searching for that artefact.

Can you find the place where Lara has to go? Find in the website the location for the key in order to find the first clue. There will be a picture of that key. Good Luck.

- Day 1: December 9, 2011. Tomb Raider 1 (1996) -

Clue 1: If the place you want to find, to Titu Cusi Yupanqui you will must to find.

- Day 2: December 10, 2011. Tomb Raider 2 (1997) -

Lara arrives to her destination and finds something in between the rocks. It's a secret entry. There she finds a box that easily opens with a shot of a gun. There she finds a key! It looks like the first out of many. It contains a letter engraved on it. At the moment this is just one clue and it is impossible to find out what else it can mean. What would will it open?

Inside the box she finds as well an old paper with another clue, but she has to return to her mansion to research on her computer. The paper just said the next clue:

Clue 2: 41.283515,-70.099449

- Day 3: December 11, 2011. Tomb Raider 3 (1998) -

After checking her computer and understand the place where she had to go, she rush to her private plane were Winston is waiting for her with some supplies and useful things for her adventure.

In that place, wich it was quite familiar, and after so much searching, she find the box, same design as the previous one, but in this one it wasn't any locker, it was open! She opens the box revealing just a photograph of the key and a note that says: "If you want the key, first we have to talk, if you can find me, but I'm sure you're a clever girl." and then a strange message bellow:

- Day 4: December 12, 2011. Tomb Raider 4 (1999) -

- "Zip, I need your help. I have no time to go home to decode this, so i have sent you the message to your computer of a coded message which seems very strange. It looks to me someone has arrive first. Who ever that person is has the key. I have to meet with him, but first this has to be decoded."

- "I just got it Lara... ummm. The only thing it could have is some relation with this... I've sent it to your PDA. You have to try it. Good luck."

So she left to the place that Zip had sent her and waited for a while. When Lara started to have her doubts or that perhaps Zip got it all wrong, she suddenly heard a familiar voice that came from behind.

- "I see you still keep your beautiful figure Lara."

- "Alex West! I should of known. Give me back the key right now!"

- "Give back? I can't see how this could be yours. I arrived first. Besides, Do you know how much money I could earn with that artefact?"

- "Alex, don't be stupid. Give me the key. That artefact is too dangerous if it falls to the wrong hands. You wouldn’t dare to sell it in the Black Market would you?”

- “Lara, Lara, Lara. If I were to give this to you, I wouldn’t get the benefits. It could be a successful story. It's going to be wild crowd over there. I want to pass on the history too.”

- “Actually, you can keep it all. I don't need the money fortunately. And now... the key.”

- “Okay, take it. Although... it's only leads to one problem... With the key, I found this Papyrus, and I can't un code it. That's why I left a clue for you, for to meet here.”/p>

- “Thank you Alex, but I rather work alone. It will be faster that way. You will have news from me soon, don't worry.”

And taking the previous key and the papyrus, she left with a wink leaving West with a teenage expression. She checked the papyrus and smiled. To un code ancient messages no one could beat her. The papyrus said the next message:

- Day 5: December 13, 2011. Tomb Raider 5 (2000) -

After long days through the desert, with extreme heat, she finally arrived at her destination, or at least that’s what she thought. Lara discovered the entry with out any problem, but it seems not so obvious. She scans the area in search of any clue. Nothing. Everything seems normal, nothing out of place.

She just about to leave the room until suddenly she realised something... Yes, it could be; Lara checked her compass and looked at the statues, they must be wrong. The statue with an E written on it, which means East. It was facing to the West, and the one with an W, that means West, it was facing the East. So she swaps the places.

As a result, she heard a noise coming from behind her. A wall emerged revealing a secret entry. It was a small room that contain a box with the same design, and lucky in a way, as this one was close, so she opened the same way she did before and got the key. As well, it exist a mural next to it, but it was in greek.

She translated the greek for the next message:

Clue 5: The Oilaine mirror is the key of the knowledge.

- Day 6: December 14, 2011. Tomb Raider AOD (2003) -

Once more, Lara Croft found herself going towards another city. She hasn’t even slept yet and yet again arrives very late at night. Every second counts.

She finally finds an archaeologist discovering the area that workers left during the night before. It was placed in the main city square, forbidding the entry to any intruders.

- "I just hope that whatever they are looking for, it's not what I need to find."

Using the darkness as an ally, Lara made her way down to the area; luckily they only just begun, so not a lot was done. She picks up the spade to start digging and dug non stop for at least a one hour. She finally finished and finds an entrance that leads to a big room that looked like an ancient underground library, hidden there for so many years.

Lara started skimming through the books until she finally finds the proper book that explains the topic on what she was searching. After a while she finally found the book she was looking for and dismounted it. She takes the book and opens it dropping something to the floor with a clink. It was the key she was searching for. She picks it up and keeps it in her pocket. She then reads the page where the key was hidden. There was something rather interesting on the page. She could only make out one sentence that was written in reverse. It says the next message:

Clue 6: The Legend will happen through the Bellum Umbrae.

- Day 7: December 15, 2011. Tomb Raider Legend (2006) -

Lara arrives at the possible place that could be referred to the clue. She felt strange being in the same location after such a long time, with all the experiences that happened there, all these deaths, and especially her mentor Von Croy. Although she was angry with him after what happened in the Temple of Horus, she really missed his company.

Returning to reality, she departures to her new destination by plane. Because it was going to be a long journey back, this was a good opportunity to have a little lie down and rest.

Croft enters the tomb, swims, climbs and jumps, going through corridors with a lot of traps. But finally she arrives to the place with one big door, locked with 6 keys. It couldn't be causality; so she tried combinations to make the correct solution. The key clicks it self to place and the door opened.

A beam of light passes through the door. Lara enters the room and found a frame. It was similar to the "Obscura Painting", although she never heard about this one. She misplaces it and cuts the back part. Instead of finding a piece of Sanglyph, like the previous ones, she instead found the seventh key. But there weren’t any clues! It can't be. After so much time and hard effort, could there be no more clues?

She walked out the door, thinking of any possibilities to resolve this solution. She must of missed something. Then, when she entered in one dark area, she realized that the painting was glowing. It was an Angel, glowing in the darkness and next to him there a message that said:

Clue 7: Part of Caliburn belongs to the Warrior King.

- Day 8: December 16, 2011. Tomb Raider Anniversary (2007) -

Time to think. When she arrived to that place, she finds a statue forming a circle shape in the centre of the room. She investigates them and finds a hidden device to place a key in the statue's back. Lara enters the first key and sound echoed in the room revealing that she done it right. She inserts the second one but didn't work. So she had to solve the puzzle inserting each key in the correct order.

When she finally solves it, the floor started shake, revealing a secret entry with some stairs fading down into darkness. She takes the fire torch which was burning near by and slowly made her way down the stairs.

Once she finally made her self down, Lara found a sarcophagus. Why was a sarcophagus there? She opens and discovered that instead of a mummified person, there was a stone statue, holding a tablet on his chest and a key around his neck. She reads the inscription that was on the tablet which says the next message:

Clue 8: Horajty Der Spiegel crossing the Red Sea.

- Day 9: December 17, 2011. Tomb Raider Underworld (2008) -

She arrived to the location and after a very long walk through those tombs, she found an underwater entry. She hasn’t brought her diving gear, and there’s certainly no time to go fetch one. She took a deep breath and dove into the water.

That was a limit situation. Her heart started to beat stronger. The environment was very dark and she was running out of air. Her chest was burning, nevertheless, when she started to feel that she was loosing her conscience, she suddenly found an exit and held desperately the extra a long breath.

Lara walked out to one altar in front of her. She found a closed box. After opening it, she found the key and a Mayan mechanism. One of those Calendars with rotating discs (rotating the main disc in the middle. It rotate all the others around it (thanks to the gears structure), and written on it was some Mayan Glifos identified with phonetic equivalence; besides, in order to solve it, Lara has to follow the instructions found next to the mechanism, and after doing the rotations to the left and right, decode the message making match the red line. The instructions are the next meaning Left counter clockwise, and Right clockwise:

Clue 9: 32 Left; 21 Right; 16 Left; 10 Right.

The Glifo orientation is the original appeared in the picture, due to the complex. I just left each glifo in the original place (not rotated). For example, if a glifo is on the left, when you rotate the disc 180º to the right, the glifo doesn't appear in reverse way, so the left glifo will appear after rotating on the left, and same with the right glifo, it will still appear on the right on the original position and direction.

- Day 10: December 18, 2011. Tomb Raider (2012) -

It’s raining a lot and she finds that her motorbike skids and it was difficult to control. She is now so close on solving the mystery!

After activating some blocks in that temple room, the wall collapse retrieving an entry. There was a huge cliff and at the bottom, Lara realizes an Mural. So she carefully descends to avoid falling.

Finally she arrives and touch the floor. She went to the mural and checking the statues on there could identify one holding a box; it seemed part of the scene, but Lara noticed it was same design as others, so she did her way to open it. She got the key, and the message next to it say:

Clue 10: That Grillo have a Medal of Honor.

When she finds out what it was all about, she went to that place and the only way to reach it was by helicopter, and after that, she jump off with a parachute. When she fianly touches the ground, Lara enters in to one of the caves. What she found were human sacrifices and behind one altar she discovers the last box that contained the last key with the last clue to find finally the place where the artefact is hidden! She could read on the table that explains the correct order to indicate the correct keys in order to unlock the door to get the artefact.
