Tomb Raider explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold.

"After a brutal storm, going into the Dragon's Triangle, and as well as Bermudas Triangle, it's an area where boats and planes dissapear under strange circunstances. The Endurance, the ship where Lara traveled shipwreck in a misterioius island. Lara finds herself frightened and washed ashore on an unknown beach. On her own but not alone she has only one goal, to survive.

Here begins the first adventure for a young and inexperienced Lara Croft in a story which charts the journey of an ordinary woman who finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive.

“Forget everything you know about TOMB RAIDER, we are exploring things that have never been done before in this game,” said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics. “This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other.”

CHARACTERISTICS

- Lara will be 21 in Tomb Raider.

- Tomb Raider will be rated M for Mature.

- Tomb Raider is a reboot of the brand, not only the series. There will be no real life Lara Croft model this time.

- The game uses motion capture.

- There are brutal deaths in the game this time. One is described as a deranged man stabbing Lara in the chest and another includes a boulder falling on her leg to trap her before another falls and crushes her head.

- Weapons to include a shotgun, bow and pistols.

- The lock on targeting system has been replaced with a free aim system.

- "There was an illusion of freedom because of streaming and loading that would pop you out in a different location, but this is absolutely real. You can literally go any direction that you see and carve your own way to the finish line instead of being guide." says experienced director Noah Hughes.

- "It was important in the game to not only deliver the character arc of Lara Croft emotionally, but to deliver it in gameplay as well so the player gets to grow into a hardened survivor. "As the game unfolds, Lara will scavenge new tools and gear that augment her abilities. Lara's athletic prowess will also evolve. Some areas begin inaccessible due to physical limitations or scarce supplies. With the right skills and gear, however, the island is Lara's for the taking."

- There are base camps in the game. Here you can combine items to create something new and access a skill system to upgrade Lara's abilities. You'll also be able to use base camps to fast travel to different locations to minimize backtracking.

- You'll need to gather food and water in order to survive.

- There are humans in the game, including some of the crew members from the shipwreck off the coast of the island.

Survival Edition (Europe)

Art Book: A 32-page mini art book compiled by Tomb Raider Art Director Brian Horton, depicting Lara’s epic adventure through original concept art.

- 15” x 19” Double Sided Island Map and Poster: Discover key landmarks from the mysterious island of Yamati, where Lara Croft and her fellow castaways were marooned after the Endurance shipwreck. On the reverse is a poster size image of the box art that epitomizes Lara’s origin story.

- Waterproof Survival Pouch: A waterproof re-sealable adventure pouch for storing key items you’ll need to protect when fighting off scavengers on the island.

- CD Soundtrack: Tomb Raider Original Soundtrack ‘Survivalist cut’: A collection of 10 tracks totaling over 60 minutes of music from the game.

- Downloadable Content: Weapons Pack - A selection of weapons to help Lara survive against the island’s inhabitants.

Collector Edition (Europe)

The Collector’s Edition will include every item from the Survival Editions in addition to:

- Play Arts Kai Lara Croft Figurine: Fully posable figurine with over 40 points of articulation. The dirt on her body and clothes has been realistically recreated to tell the tale of Lara’s fierce fight for survival on a desolate island. Comes with alternate set of three (3) hands, bow and arrow, shotgun, handgun, and climbing axe. Figure Size: Approx 8.0” Tall (20 cm).

- Endurance Survival Kit Packaging: A survival tin salvaged from the ill-fated Endurance. The tin houses a copy of the game and the Lara Croft Play Arts Kai figure.

The Survival and Collector’s Editions will be available in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Collector Edition (North America)

- Endurance Survival Kit Packaging: A survival tin salvaged from the ill-fated Endurance. The tin houses a copy of the game and the Lara Croft Play Arts Kai figure.

The Collector’s Edition will be available in North America for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $99.99. Tomb Raider will also be available in North America for the PC via Digital Download, with Collector’s Edition details pending.

PC Pre Order version for Steam

This version will content the PC version for Steam and it exits a pre order counter, depends how much is increase, it will be available 3 possible rewards when release.
