In early 1999, the famous newspaper "The Time" Lara called to hire her to go in search of the recent discovery of the tomb of Tutankamon, which is the cause of some strange happenings. There in the paper is informed by the editor Peter Stothard that the November 4, 1922, archaeologist Howard Carter, under the patronage Lord Carnarvon, discovered in the Valley of the Kings tomb of an unknown Pharaoh.

Lara accepts and reviews the files of the late Howard Carter years ago in search of the notes and the exact location of the tomb before returning to Egypt. Lara will discover secrets of the "Mask of Tutankamon."
