The development of Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness, by many is known that it had much content cut, skills not included, weapons, etc.. Therefore, the Aspyr development team, wanted to introduce in the remaster version, all kinds of improvements in the controls, skills such as Kurtis Trent, etc..

Improved controls

As in Tomb Raider I-II-III Remastered, we will be able to choose between classic, tank-like controls and modern ones. Aspyr strongly recommends players to use the modern controls (preferably with a gamepad), as the control will be much more responsive and intuitive.

The camera can rotate 360 degrees, and you will be able to jump in the direction the camera is pointing without having to adjust its orientation before jumping. In addition, in The Angel of Darkness, we will also be able to shoot stealthily from the corners of the walls.

Kurtis Trent’s Skills

For Tomb Raider IV-V-VI Remastered, Kurtis’ ability to wield the Chirugai in the game (bladed disc weapon) is restored. This ability remained hidden in the code of the original game and its animation could be shown through cheats. In this remaster, you will be able to resort to this weapon and have the alternative of his Boran X gun, which can run out of ammunition.

In addition, Kurtis will also be able to project a psychic shield around his body, which can be very useful in a boss battle.

Kurtis, like Lara, will now also be able to sprint and shoot from corners in stealth mode.

Removed areas

In Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness, was enabled the deleted training area in the back streets of Paris, an area that in the original was unfinished and without access, although it could be forced with tools created by fans. Now it is part of the Legacy in this new version.

Now, in the remaster version, Daniel Rennes’ pawn store, you can sell items in exchange for money, which can be used to buy new weapons and accessories, such as a laser sight or a silencer.

In the herbalist’s shop, you will now also be able to buy items to cure yourself and poison antidotes, and not only information as in the original.

Unused items

In Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness Remaster, some lines of dialogue have been restored for Lara and Kurtis that did not appear in the original, which will provide more story context and additional hints.

Werner Von Croy’s notebook will now open automatically the first time Lara wakes up in the railroad car, displaying story and puzzle solving information. New entries will be added as you progress through the game.

Some items were restored, such as Werner’s cane in his apartment, which will contain a secret that can be unlocked from the inventory.
