Tomb Raider follows the adventures of Lara Croft after she is hired by a powerful syndicate to recover a mystical object called the Scion. After discovering that she is being used as a mere pawn in a larger conspiracy, Lara decides that she must uncover the mystery behind this ancient artifact on her own.
An Atlantean disc lands on Earth, where our beloved Natla is. She was banished thousands of years ago by the Atlantean leaders (Tihocan and Qualopec) due to experiments that caused many Atlantean deaths.
Once back on Earth, after founding a large company herself, she calls Lara to hire her and recover a fragment of the Scion. Without further explanation, Lara goes to Peru to recover it. Once recovered and confronted by Larson, their conversation makes Lara think and she decides to investigate, so she goes to Natla Technologies and finds out that these fragments of the Scion were scattered in different places on Earth.
If these fragments are joined together, they could cause the resurgence of a new Atlantean race inside a great pyramid. The first fragment was found in Peru, the second in the tomb of Tihocan, and the last in Egypt. Lara must recover the three pieces of the Scion before Natla and her henchmen.

In 1996, the first video game in the Tomb Raider series was released. Its 3D design, controls, and graphics were truly revolutionary for the time. In addition, it featured a unique female character, Lara Croft, to whom players immediately became emotionally attached. The original Tomb Raider game sold over seven million copies worldwide and is still considered an absolute classic, as well as one of the best action-adventure games in history. Tomb Raider defined PlayStation games and changed the way video games were played.
As a tribute to these milestones and to celebrate and commemorate the continued development of the Tomb Raider franchise and its protagonist, Crystal Dynamics is developing a new adventure for Lara inspired by the original video game. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary faithfully preserves the elements that made the original game a classic.
Using the optimized resources of Tomb Raider Legend, its game engine, graphics, technology, and physics, this classic adventure sees Lara searching for a mystical artifact known as the Scion, bursting onto the current technology scene and offering players a completely new gaming experience.
