Tomb Raider includes multiplayer for the first time, below you can take a look at everything you need to know about this new online mode and what to do to play with your friends. You can also form a community to play through Steam, Play Station and XBOX platforms. Access the Croft Generation channels on Steam or Discord to form groups.

First of all, the multiplayer mode did not take up much time in development, as Crystal Dynamics dedicated all its resources to the single player mode, while Eidos Montreal, the studio behind the development of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, developed the multiplayer for Tomb Raider.

Meeting points – Multiplayer

Because multiplayer is more fun to play with people you know, we have created 3 meeting points for the Croft Generation community (Steam for PC, PS3 and XBOX 360). Click on the images below to access each community and join the groups to play together.

Play Modes

All game modes (a total of 4) allow a maximum of 4 vs 4 and the game automatically switches between the two sides, the Survivors and the Scavengers on a total of 5 maps with the possibility to include new ones as downloadable DLC.

  • Rescue: Survivors must collect 5 medical kits and take them to certain locations on the map, while the scavengers or Solarii team must attempt to kill 20 survivors. To maintain balance, survivors have one chance to be rescued by a teammate, waiting on the ground and with the ability to defend themselves by shooting from their position; scavengers have to finish off their victim with a final melee touch.
  • Team Deathmatch: You play as Lara’s allied team, the survivors, or as a member of the hostiles, Solarii or Scavengers. Games are 3 rounds, with those who have the most casualties in 10 minutes winning, and players alternate between teams each round. In addition to human enemies, players will have to survive environmental traps, such as levers that activate spike traps or destructible environments, such as bridges. The multiplayer mode will feature weapons such as bows, as in the game, but also other types of pistols, shotguns, grenade launchers, etc.
  • Cry for Help: This mode will be about discovering and collecting items while eliminating enemies that cross your path. There is no further information on this game mode at this time.
  • Deathmatch: Law of the strongest, kill enough players without dying to become the “Executioner” and secure your dominance before time runs out.

Characters

We can choose our characters for the Survivor team and the Solarii team, some characters are locked, the only way to unlock them is by gaining experience points, for example, Lara will be a difficult character to unlock, which will be available when you reach level 60.
