This section presents the main characters of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, along with their biography and image gallery. This game was the sixth in the saga and the last one developed by CORE Design.
Lara Croft
Lara Croft was born in Parkside Hospital (Surrey) on February 14, 1968, her parents were Amelia Croft and the renowned archaeologist Lord Richard Croft, Earl of Abbingdon.
Between the ages of three and six, she attended the Abbingdon Girls School, where it quickly became clear that she was an exceptionally gifted child.
At the age of nine she survived a plane crash in the Himalayas that took the life of her mother. In perhaps the first story of her prodigious indomitability, she somehow survived a solo ten-day trek across the Himalayan mountains, one of the most hostile environments on the planet. The story goes that when she arrived in Katmandu she went to the nearest bar and made a polite telephone call to her father asking if it would be convenient for him to come and pick her up.
For six years following the plane crash, Lara rarely left her father’s side, traveling around the world from one archeological dig site to another. During this period she was ostensibly given a standard education from private tutors, but it would probably be more accurate to say she was her father’s full time apprentice.
When Lara was fifteen, her father went missing in Cambodia. Extensive searches by the authorities and Lara herself turned up human remains that could not definitively be identified. Since Lord Croft’s body was not officially recovered, Lara could not directly inherit the Croft title and Lara was thrust into a bitter family feud over control of the Abbingdon estates with her uncle Lord Errol Croft. Lara eventually won the legal battle, and took possession of her inheritance but at the cost of a deep rift in the Croft family that left her estranged from her living relatives.

Kurtis Trent
His real name is Kurtis Heistum, and he was born on June 26, 1972, in Utah, Salt Flats (United States). He has blue-gray eyes and his blood group is Brh +, in addition, he has brown hair.
Kurtis’ favorite vehicle is the Classic Brough Superior SS 100 motorcycle and Porsche Spider car.
Kurtis likes music by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, Mozart and Sun Ra. He also has hobbies such as any high-risk sport and flying helicopters.
He masterfully handles his favorite weapon, the Chirugai, a bladed disc that he is also able to control with his mind. He also keeps his favorite weapon, the Boran X pistol, which belonged to his father.
To understand the whole story of Kurtis Trent, we have to go back some years, the events that occurred before his birth and everything that happened with the Lux Veritatis order.
Way back in 1954, Gerhard Heistum (Kurtis’ grandfather) is captured and murdered by Eckhardt and the Cabal. Kurtis’ father, 21-year-old Konstantin Heistum, inherits his father’s Lux Veritatis, which makes him the target of the Cabal’s murderous attacks to totally eradicate this gift. There were only a few survivors of the order, who wage a constant struggle against Eckhardt and the Cabal.
In 1966, Konstantin, at the age of 33, meets a Navajo American Indian. She was in the crossfire of the Cabal’s assault on Konstantin, but proves to have unexpected innate powers. Marie Cornel (his mother), returned to the NB States. Marie’s father was one of the Marine officers working with the Navajo code during WWII, which explains her specialist area of interest.
In 1969, on a Lux Veritatis mission against the Cabal, Konstantin arrives in the United States looking for Marie Cornel. While visiting the ruins of Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. Soon after, Konstantin and Marie were secretly married in a tribal ceremony. The next few years they traveled back and forth between the U.S. and Europe.
Kurtis was born on June 26, 1972. Konstantin Heistum (his father), takes Marie Cornel (his mother) to a safe place so that she could give birth, located in Salt Flats (Utah), where the order of Lux Veritatis was located.
As soon as Kurtis and his mother could hide, Konstantin returns and travels to Europe to help in the “Shadow War”.
In 1975, when the family returned to Europe, Kurtis was already 3 years old, and they were still moving through a variety of Lux Veritatis safe houses in ancient fortresses throughout Europe and the Middle East.
A year later, in 1976, Kurtis and his mother spent a year in Scotland in hiding, while Konstantin finds himself in the battle centered in cities under the lands of Anatolia in central Turkey, where Eckhardt appears to be dead, but it turns out to be a trap, as only six adepts of Lux Vertitatis survive, apart from Konstantin.
In 1988, Kurtis, at the age of 16, was initiated under the six remaining adepts. His father is absent for a few years from the Lux Veritatis missions.
At the age of 19, in 1991, Kurtis joined the Legion. He did not want to be part of the “Shadow War” that devastated lives. By then, there were only three people left alive from those who were part of the order, apart from his father, if he was still alive…
Kurtis changed his last name from Heistum to Trent, in an attempt to hide from the Legion for 5 years, long enough to become part of the French citizenry. One day, he is repeatedly assaulted by hidden outbreaks from the shadow worlds. For this reason, from then on, Kurtis was nicknamed within the Legion as the Demon Hunter.
In 1996, Kurtis leaves the Legion after unexplained events that may never appear in official Legion files and usually involve horrific accidents. He starts independently as a mercenary and learns that his father is still alive, but he is unable to reconcile with him, due to the differences between them, which is why he never saw his father alive again.
In 2001, Konstantin is finally cornered and killed by the dark Alchemist Pieter Van Eckhardt, as are the remaining members of Lux Veritatis, leaving Kurtis as the sole survivor of the order.
Kurtis’ mother, Marie, separated the Periapt shards that were his only real defense. Kurtis gets two of these shards and pursues Eckhardt, on a mission of revenge.
Kurtis also inherits a Lux Veritatis blade, called Chirugai. This weapon was forged generations ago, from the alloy of a meteorite, and like most Lux Veritatis, can be used only in secret and can be controlled by someone trained, such as himself.
In 2003, Kurtis crosses Lara Croft’s path, and under common interests, both decide to join forces in Prague to fight against the Cabal and Eckhardt.
