30 Anniversary of Tomb Raider

Today, October 24, the Tomb Raider series celebrates its 30th anniversary. Throughout this year and in previous years, Crystal Dynamics has been collaborating with merchandising and video game companies.

TR30 Event in Derby

Today, as it’s a special day, a special in-person event is also taking place in Derby, England. This fan event has been held annually in recent years and is growing in popularity. On this occasion, several key figures from the franchise are in attendance, including Meagan Marie (community manager), Alix Wilton Regan (voice and motion capture for Lara in Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst), Alison Carroll (TR Underworld model), Judith Gibbins (voice in TR I–II), Jonell Elliot (voice in TR IV–VI), and Natalie Cook (TR I model), Arek Tomaszewski (Flying Wild Hog), and Raúl Siqueira (Crystal Dynamics).

Currently, what we know about that event is as follows:

  • Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will feature a photo mode.
  • A new trailer for Legacy of Atlantis was shown during the event; it will be released online soon.
  • The new Tomb Raider Lo-fi project was unveiled.
  • It was also announced that all the music (both previously released tracks and new ones) will be made available on streaming platforms in November.

This is what the reassembled Lara Croft statue (displayed at the Tomb Raider Experience) looks like at the Derby Museum, after successfully raising funds through a Kickstarter campaign to move it there and get it out of the storage room where it had been kept since the end of the Scape Room campaign in London.

New Trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

At the Derby event, a new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was shown exclusively. Initially, according to Meagan Marie, it was set to be released online very soon (between today and tomorrow).

Check back later or tomorrow to watch the new trailer below.
