This expansion of the first game consists of 4 levels, the first two refer to the Shadow of the Cat, and the last two levels to Unfinished Business.
- Shadow of the Cat: Lara returns to the city of Khamoon to discover the secret of the strange and beautiful cat statue, reaching a mysterious supernatural conclusion.
- Unfinished Business: Lara is back to Atlantis, where she discovered in TR1 the existence of an alien city in ruins. In this new adventure she must destroy these creatures before they invade the Earth again.
In the following section, you can download the TR1 Gold expansion which was released for free a long time ago. As it is an old game, you must follow the instructions below to run it without any problem.
Install Tomb Raider 1 Gold
Next, you have the TOMBATI download option, the best option nowadays to play TR1 and TR1 Gold, the original download source is at Glidos website and you can also download below, the 1.70 version: TOMBATI V.1.70.
TOMBATI method
The best way to run the game is using the TOMBATI method, which can be downloaded through the Glidos page. You must have the main game installed on the C drive (in case you have the Steam version, when you hit install, make sure you choose the C drive.
Next, run the TOMBATI installer and leave the default path.
When it has finished extracting, a new window will appear to choose where to import the game from (GoG version, Steam or from a CD):
The new location to play both the main game (tombati.exe) and TR1 Gold (Tombub.exe) will be at: C:\TOMBATI.
TOMBATI version enhancements
- Adds music and ambient sounds to the levels (as in the PlayStation version).
- Fixes a secret that could not be collected in the level The Great Pyramid.
