Welcome to the new Croft Generation design, I hope you like it and I regret that there isn’t all the web content on Day 1. I will follow an update plan to notify you through articles like this one.
Updated sections
This time, I update fully these two game sections. Some content from the old design is improved and completed, for example Shadow of the Tomb Raider video walkthrough, achievements, etc. Check all content below.
Reasons for the design change
This is the ninth website design, founded on December 9, 2001, very soon will turn 19, and it has gone through several redesigns, usually renovated on the anniversaries. This time I had to make it early, due to web hosting requirements, as the previous programming code is about to become obsolete in this hosting, which will be updated to the latest versions of PHP and MySQL. For this reason, due to the great complexity of fixing all incompatibilities, it’s better to install a new software from scratch.
The software chosen is WordPress, customized with a new theme and plugins that helps all the web needings.
Features and improvements
The following are the improvements to this new design:
- Search button at the top of the web, next to the sections, very useful to find all the content that may be included, both in sections and articles.
- On each page you visit, it will appear in the right side menu (or at the bottom of the page, if you access from a mobile device), an English flag icon to access the site in English language, in case a translation exists. Next to the language, categories links will also appear, and finally, an archive articles grouped by month.
- Now the gallery is more attractive to display as a dynamic tile and when you click on each image, it expands as a viewer, where you can enlarge the image, set as full screen, play into slide mode and download the original picture.
Discover on your own what other improvements are, I hope you like the change, and thank you in advance for having patience in the move-in process, I promise to update frequently to get 100% in little time. Remember that also the 19th website anniversary is on December 9th.
On the other hand, the forum has been removed, due to the low activity and because social networks predominate today.
