This game, developed by the company Aspyr, with the collaboration of Crystal Dynamics, contains the Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3 games, but together with secret levels and the expansions: “Unfinished Business” (TR1 Gold), “The Gold Mask” (TR2 Gold) and “The Lost Artifact” (TR3 Gold). Tomb Raider I-II-III Remastered will be available on February 14, 2024.

Base Features

To develop the remasters, they got the original source code, thus preserving all the essence of these games.

In terms of gameplay, the jumps, secrets, enemies and puzzles of the original were maintained, but at the same time, classic and modern control options were introduced, inspired by the Legend, Anniversary and Underworld games, being able to control the camera and directing Lara to the position where the camera focuses.

The game features more than 200 achievements and has improved lighting, shadows and textures, as well as a new, more detailed model of Lara. You will be able to change at any time from classic or modern display and control mode.

Health bars were also added to the bosses to let you know how much health they have left and to be able to choose the best weapon, depend the damage you do.

Artistically, they sought to visually recreate the games as they remain in the memory of players, but implementing real-time lighting effects, the ability to switch between old and new graphics, new models and environments, including an updated version of the Lara Croft model.

The sprites of the objects to collect were also in 2D, and this time they were replaced by 3D models as you can see in the following example, one of the Jade dragon secrets.

A much loved option among fans was added, the photo mode, you can freeze the action at any time and make Lara to pose, sharing iconic moments and scenarios.

In the game, Croft Manor will be a central world from which to access each game, and you will be able to see the secrets and artifacts obtained so far.

Below are some gifs showing the comparison between the classic and remastered mode, mind-blowing. These artistic changes had the collaboration of Crystal Dynamics.
