11. Archeological Dig
There are three guards you must eliminate. When you start the level, go to the front door and go through it. On the right, continue to the end. A guard will come out of the office. Eliminate him and enter the office where he came out. On the opposite wall, there is a switch on the wall. Press it to turn on the electricity.
You will see a movie where a computer is turned on. Leave the office and watch out for the guard waiting outside to your right. Kill him. Take his weapon. There are large metal doors between the two mobile offices. This is where you activated the power with the switch. Go to the table with the computer and press the switch. This will allow you to see the archaeological discovery more easily, as it will be X-rayed.
Move the left joystick to view the excavation section by section until you find a symbol that looks like a circle connected to another semicircle by a line. Photocopy it using the action button. This is the first copy of the ancient symbol. Leave this area and go to the office on the right. Enter and take the copy of the second ancient symbol from the printer. It is a circle with another circle in the center.
There are also pictures of the symbol hanging on the wall. Leave the room and be careful when you exit, as you will encounter another guard. Continue straight ahead and turn right halfway down the hall. You will see an opening in the fence and a ladder that you must climb down to reach the excavation site.
With your back to the stairs you just came down, go to the left and at the end of this platform you will see a staircase: DO NOT go down it. Look to your right at the back wall and you will see a stone platform. Stay close to the wall and, looking at the stone platform, jump onto it and climb up onto the wooden platform. Climb back up onto the bridge and continue along it. Turn left.
There is a button on the left side that you must press. It will lower the elevator. Turn around with your back to the switch and walk to the end of the bridge. Look down and you will see some wooden stairs. Jump over the railing and land on them. Follow them up to where the four levers are. You will have to place the four symbols correctly, starting with the first one from left to right. Lower all the levers except the first one, go back to the wheel and pull the lever until the crescent moon appears. Go back up to the four levers, now lower all of them except the second one and go back to the circle.
Continue doing this until you have the crescent moon, the figure you copied from the X-ray, the symbol you took from the printer in the office, and the scorpion in order. A scene will appear showing you the now open lock. Walk to the far right of the path, directly over the elevator.
Look to the right. Jump onto the wooden platform. Turn around and look straight ahead, and you will see the stone platform where you arrived. Jump onto the stone platform. Climb up onto the wooden ledge and climb back onto the bridge. Go to where the door opened and let yourself fall.
- First Symbol: An upside-down moon. You will find it in Von Croy’s notebook.
- Second Symbol: A circle with a small line and a long curved line. You will find it on the blue doors of the two mobile stores.
- Third Symbol: A circle with a smaller one inside. You’ll find it in the second mobile store.
- Fourth Symbol: A Scorpion. You will find it in Von Croy’s notebook.
