20. The Monstrum Crime Scene
Go talk to the reporter (Luddick). Be nice. You’re going to buy some files from him, and if you’re nice to him, he’ll get you a password for Eckhardt’s location. He’ll get you the password in an hour. Go to the alley on the left and shoot the man at the end of the alley. There’s a hammer on the right; take it.
You can combine the hammer with the claw to open the floor grates in the alleys behind the buildings across the street. Once you have this tool, leave the alley, turn left and then diagonally to the right, enter an alley on your left, turn right and then right again. There you will find a man with his dog. Shoot them.
You will see an entrance with a grate on the floor. Kill the guy in front of you and go back to the grate. Open it and jump on it. Go straight ahead and turn right. There is a break in the wall. Enter the room. Go to the open door on the left. Go up the stairs. At the top is a room where Bouchard is. You will see a scene with Bouchard. Lara hits him with a weapon, and then you have a conversation with him.
Go to the main room. Go up the stairs to the library. Walk to the left and you will find a small piece of furniture. Push it to gain strength. Climb onto the scaffolding on the upper level, walk to the left, and jump to reach the chain on the ledge in front of you.
Pull the left chain twice to open the circular glass disc slightly, and a blue light will shine brightly outward.
You will see a scene in which a cabinet moves, revealing a first aid kit. Run and jump onto the ledge on the other side of the glass and pull the right chain four times. You will now see the clock open and reveal a mark on the floor. Go down.
Move the furniture again to gain strength. Go down to the main floor. Go to the furniture that moved and take the first aid kit. Go to the clock. Move the clock hands until it reads 3 o’clock and press the triangle button. Go down the stairs.
There is a fax machine in front of the desk. Pick it up and look at it. The fax machine gives you an access code: 31597. Use the access code on the numeric keypad behind the desk. You will see the painting next to it move and reveal a niche. Take the last Obscura engraving. Go up to the main hall and exit through the door you entered. You will see a scene; Bouchard is gone. Go out into the hallway to look for him. On your left, there is a door. Open it.
Another scene appears and Bouchard falls outside. Take his keys. Run down the stairs to the small sewer room. Go to the red door. The red door leads to the stairs at the back of the alley where you killed the two men and their dog. The reporter is waiting for you outside. Ask him for the code. He will give you the code and weapons. You will see a scene.
