24. Maximum Containment Area
You should now be in the maximum containment area. You will see a scene showing the area. Go forward. Go through the barred door on the right, not the green door. Enter through the doors. Go to the right. At the second door on the left, Kurtis will use his divination powers again to obtain a code: 17068. Return to the barred door area and enter through the green door.
Enter the room and enter the code. Go back down the hallway to the door where you used your powers, go in, and you will see a dead guard with a pass and ammunition. There is a chocolate bar on the table. An aboriginal will enter. Kill him.
Go out into the hallway on the left. Use the pass. Go in and continue straight ahead to a cell on the right. Go in and you will find ammunition in a suitcase. Exit. Go left and go down a ramp to some doors. Walk forward through the doorway. Two aborigines with claws are coming toward you.
Go right. There are doors to the laboratory on the right. The Proto will walk outside and go downstairs and kill a guard behind a door. Leave the laboratory. Turn left and walk to the end of the hallway. Turn right at the end of the hallway. Go under the half steel door. Follow the hallway to the circular stairs.
Go downstairs, exit through the hallway, turn left, and continue to the metal door at the end of the hallway. Go through the door. You should be in a circular stone room where the Proto is locked up. Turn right and walk toward the stairs.
Climb up and walk to the bridge that connects to the hanging cage. Jump onto the cage. You should see a ledge that is close enough to jump to. Jump and grab hold. Walk toward a break in the ledge. Jump. Cross it and reach the end. There is a vent above you. Jump up and grab hold of the duct. Enter it. Go down. Crawl through the vent. Follow the vent to the right. Turn left. Turn right. Reach the end and jump, climb the ladder at the end of the vent, and go up.
Take the pass from the dead guards. Take the chocolate bar, use the pass, and exit through the door. Go to the left. Go down the hallway and turn left twice. Use the pass. A cutscene plays. Kurtis uses his special powers to close the door behind him, but it’s clear that the Proto is entering through the ventilation system. It’s time to kill the Proto. There is a first aid kit and some ammunition here. Shoot the Proto by aiming and moving backwards.
You have to face him seven times because he appears to be dead but comes back to life. A scene appears where Kurtis, after defeating him, goes to his body. Kurtis removes the fragment from the Orb and kills the Proto. The Proto is not really difficult to kill. Flick the switch in the middle of the room. A scene shows Kurtis entering a room. Lara is hanging from the ceiling.
She falls on top of Kurtis. Kurtis and Lara chat about Eckhardt, the lux Veritatis. They make a plan to work together. Kurtis is going to find the third fragment of the Orb (made of crystal) and Lara is going to get the painting. Eckhardt is watching them, but he allows Lara to go get the painting.
